Detoxing from Alcohol

In The Early Days of AA we kept alcohol in our homes quite often for "weaning" alcoholics off alcohol, since Alcoholic withdrawals, unlike opiate or other withdrawals can be fatal, although we did favor hospitalization for the acute alcoholic, but since the advent of treatment centers...

Alcoholic Perception? I have been sober 10 days, doing meetings , reading about alcoholism. It's funny I knew I was an alcoholic for a very long time but I kept on fighting the disease . It's amazing to realize that life is never going to be a bed of roses just because we got sober! My sobriety date is December 10, 1983, and I thought by this time I would know everything.
