I may go MIA for a few days ... I am to check in for a heart cath in the morn'n ... Dr. sez it looks as though I'm a good candidate for a couple stints, BUT, he said he'll have to wait and see how bad things are ... he said if you are too blocked up for the stints, then we'll have to go to 'open heart' surgery ... (my dad was 63 when he had triple bypass on his heart !!!) ... ... ... I'm 63 ...
All prayers welcome ... I love you guys, always have ... Pappy

Put it in your HP's hands Roger and let the surgeons be your sponsors. One of our local members just went thru her second heart surgery and HP and the fellowship stood close by. She was at this mornings meeting and sharing like before the problem re-occurred. We are family and we support our members. Sending you support from all angles. (((((hugs)))))
Much love and many hugs and more prayers up to God for you and your recovery, Roger. Thank God that there are qualified doctors out there who can help you.
More prayers going up for you....I found this prayer below. I know that you probably have your own prayers.....just wanted to share it: Love you.
Dear Lord,
I ask that you would strengthen my body and prepare my body for this upcoming surgery.
Lord, I ask that you prepare each doctor and each assistant so that each one is refreshed and at his or her best when the surgery starts. Enable them to disregard any personal distractions and fully focus on my surgery. I pray that each one is clear thinking and able to receive wisdom from you as the surgery is in progress. May each decision be correct and each procedure be accurate.
Heavenly Father, I am asking for your supernatural protection during my surgery. I pray for the outcome to be your very best.
I also pray for protection and provision during my recovery period.
You are my Creator, and you are my Sustainer.
Guide me this day as I seek to find peaceful rest in your presence.
Y'all just had to do it didn't you ... you've brought the tears flow'n from my eyes ... the love here knows no bounds, it knows no limits, it flows across the oceans and across the great lands of this world ... and for that, I am so very grateful to be a part of the great spirit that binds us to each other with a love that heals all wounds ... ... ...
May God continue to bless us all, Love Pappy

Oh, ... the heart people called me back, they have scheduled an appt. with the heart surgeon on Friday the 24th, the earliest possible ... I hate this WAITING stuff ... if they're go'n to crack my chest open, I'd rather it sooner than later ...
If things change, I'll try to keep y'all informed ...
Oh, LTR, ... beautiful prayer ... think I'll borrow it ... love you ...

Tears are good...a good release. May your fears be released through your tears, Roger.
My sponsor believes in praying but doesn't believe in praying for people who are sick or heavy burdened because "we don't have the power to change what is going to happen to others just by praying for it". At first I got a little po'd when I heard this and wanted to say "you mean if someone close to you was very ill, you don't pray for that person to get better?" And isn't this program about praying for ourselves to get better and be released from the bondage of alcohol????? I think it would be a very selfish thing for me to pray for my own sick self and not be willing to pray for others.
I remember laying in bed when I was a child and having a long list of people I prayed for. It feels good as well as comforting to be able to pray to God and believe He hears our prayers. I have heard too many stories of events where others were healed through prayer--some of which left doctors baffled and scratching their heads. I don't believe we have the power to heal--however, I do believe that God does and He does hear our prayers.
How are you doing this morning, Roger????

UPDATE ... ... ... It's been a pretty rough few days ... I don't dare walk outta the house without the 'Nitro' pills in my pocket ... chest pain can pop up anytime, anywhere ... still just praying, right now anyways, that I can make it to the surgeon's appt. and surgery before the 'big one', LOL ...
I love my neighbors, they came over Friday and tilled and pulled weeds outta my garden ... all I could do is keep the water and Gatorade come'n ... I HATED WATCH'N THEM WORK AND NOT BE'N ABLE TO LEND A HAND ... I'm feel'n more 'helpless' as time goes on ...
LTR, I strongly dissagree with your sponsor on the praying for the people who are sick ... I've posted several times of the miracles I personally have experienced where the doctors of those who overcame certain, emminent death, where returned to good health through prayer ... the Docs had NO other explanations other than 'Divine Intervention' ...
Personally, I believe and have witnessed the miracles of God ...
And I WELCOME all prayers of anyone to their own 'Higher Power' ... ... ...
Love you guys and God Bless, Pappy
