Healing (Preview) So, I just celebrated 5 months on December 31st. Woohoo! The real gift came soon after the New Year. My mom and I have always had a difficult relationship. She was physically and mentally abused by my grandmother who is now 83. As a result I grew up similarly in a very abusive, aggressive, angry, sc...	mich	6	621	Jan 13, 2013 by Pablomoses
Open hostility towards newcomers? (Preview) I was at a meeting recently, one that I go to almost every day. It's a great meeting that I feel welcome at and a few people I used to drink with go, too- which I think is great. This particular meeting is full of oldtimers, so I often just listen as there is much to learn from these guys. Anyway, one gentleman...	Col	17	811	Jan 13, 2013 by ChristineG

testing for alcoholism (Preview) I have what may be a silly question - The big book in chapter 3 lays out what it says are ways that people are alcoholics, and without getting into a lengthy explanation of my condition, I was wondering if the suggestion to have a drink and try to stop is actually a worthwhile test - on pp31-31 is suggests th...	gatefold_cover	18	728	Jan 13, 2013 by Ex-MA Hole
Freedom Fighter/Twelve Step (Preview) New to these boards. Working a traditional 12-step program with a book a friend of mine recommended. They seem to be working well together. Checkig in (Preview) Just here to claim my seat. Grateful to be sober today. Went to a meeting, doing some step work, talked to my sponser. I also worked out, spent a few hours with the wife and bought her some new boots and shoes without expecting anything in return. Imagine doing something for someone as selfless. I'm at wo...
