Remorse is terrible mental punishment: ashamed of ourselves for the things we've said and done, afraid to face people because of what they might think of us, afraid of the consequences of what we did when we were drunk. In need of help and support! (Preview) I'm new to this board. I attempted to quit drinking several months ago, but then I somehow rationalized that I could drink once a week. Bad idea. Being strong - Day 1 (Preview) This is my first day to check out this site. I've enjoyed reading the message boards. One said, "Stay away from the places where you are tempted to drink". Daily Reflections 3\19 (Preview) Prayer: It works It has been well said that "almost the only scoffers at prayer are those who never tried it enough." Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, page 97 Having grown up in an agnostic household, I felt somewhat foolish when I first tried praying. I have a sponsor! (Preview) This morning I went to my home group meeting, which I love -- they even have babysitters for the kids! As I walked into the meeting, I saw the woman who was the first person I met at my first meeting. I hadn't seen her since, until today.
