my son has 2 dwi"s and calls us to pick him up from bars or friends houses when he wants to come home.  We do not want to do this but we are terrified of him getting another DWI AND GOING  to jail or him getting into an accident/killing someone on the way home. What do you think we should  do/

It's recommended to go to some al-anon meetings

http://www.al-anonfamilygroups.org/meetings/meeting.html

and go ask this question on the al-anon message board here

http://www.activeboard.com/forum.spark?forumID=42727

how old is your son?

Hi,

Thanks for sharing with us today. We're glad you did.

I encourage you to follow Dean's suggestion about Al-Anon and to become as informed as you can be, to hear what other parents have done and are doing.

It may not seem like much to have your son call you when he's drunk but it is a blessing on so many levels.

Coming here was great first step biggrin

Hi there
Well, the first step is helping yourselves! Al-anon is a great start. Unless someone wants to help themselves, we pretty much drive ourselves crazy wondering what to do. Havent had to deal with my own children in that regard but Im sure it is very painful! I know I put my own parents thru hell and back and hope Im not rewarded with the same behavior from my kids!
Wishing you lots of luck! Prayers to you!!
Lani
