Music for the soul

Hi everyone,

Sorry I haven't been seen around here much lately.  I'm gonna try to step back a little from the break-neck pace I've had at work for the past 6 weeks.

I've also been wrestling a little with that dark demon called depression during that same time.

I came across a little film clip that I'm listening to right now, that has lifted my spirits to a point that I feel the darkness pierced by it's light.  I have always found that music seems to do something for the spirit.

Anyway, I didn't know anyone could make the humble ukelele sound so majestic.  The artist's name is Jake Shimabukuro.  Take a listen if you like any of George Harrison's work.

Take care.

I have to say, Dan,

That is one of the nicest pieces of talented music I have enjoyed in awhile...

My husband just bought me an acoustic guitar for my birthday the other day.. I have laways played electric... I am so glad to have a new outlet..

This Ukelele guy is incredible..

Thanks for touching my spirit, once again.

You friend in recovery,

Joni

Hi Dan,

Thanks so much for that link. What a beautiful piece of music! My mother and grandmother both play(ed) the ukulele, but not remotely like that.

I do hope that you'll soon be feeling brighter and that your depression will lift. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts.

Take good care of yourself.

Carol

Music for the soul often involves melodies that resonate deeply with our emotions, and one of the most soothing instruments for this purpose is the ukulele. For example, you can try playing a calming chord progression like C, G, Am, and F on the ukulele tabs to create a serene atmosphere that truly touches the heart.

Music for the soul transcends mere entertainment; it evokes deep emotions, connects us to memories, and fosters creativity, and when I play the ukulele, its soothing melodies create a serene atmosphere, allowing me to express my innermost feelings effortlessly.
