Hey all. Bernie here. Recovered alcoholic. Haven't posted too much here recently. From what I been hearing, there are not many who still post. But, I don't know your story; I only know my story. I've been involved with things. It's funny sometimes how things work out. I am DCM for my district and according to local guidelines for serving on those types of committees, it is suggested that you have a service sponsor. I have one. He's been sober twice as long as me almost. I also serve as a service sponsor to someone. He and I are going through the service manual and we also read some pamphlets and other material on the traditions and the concepts. In the illustrated pamphlet on the traditions, under tradition five, which is where we are now, it says and I quote, you don't need to take my word for it....." Every newcomer learns (some of us the hard way) that the business of staying sober must have top priority. If we fail at that, we can't succeed at anything else." I don't come here as often as I did but I still get to a lot of meetings, in-person meetings as well as virtual meetings. I even host a couple on zoom. I have a sponsor. I am a sponsor. I have a home group. I'm involved with my group and also I'm involved with the district committee. This place, miracles in progress, has contributed in no small way to my sobriety. So, I'm going to pop in more often. My old sponsor, passed away now, he used to say if everyone thinks someone else is making the coffee, the coffee won't get made.

We must always remember the alcoholic who still suffers and doesn't yet know that there is a way out. That's enough from me. For now.
