I have been chronically un/underemployed for years. Can anyone suggest an AA speaker from a speaker tape website that addresses the issue of unemployment, and for me, the side-effects of anger, resentment, giving up hope...
Consider yourself blessed. Even at almost 7 years sober, if I am not working, I go to jail due to mandatory financial obligations. Maybe I'm the blessed one?
Thanks for the replies. I have listened to the speakers you suggested, and both were great. I am doing OK, but still having these terrible recurring nightmares where I am yelling/screaming at friends from my past trying to explain or get them to understand why my twenties were not like their linear, A to B university experiences; whereas mine, was in-and-out of 3-4 universities and finally finishing at 30. I have posted about this before, and some members have recommended I listen to Sandy B's tapes. "A new Pair of Glasses" to get some perspective.
"but the actual or potential alcoholic with hardly an exception, will be absolutely unable to stop drinking on the basis of self knowledge"
It won't matter how many speaker tapes you relate to. Our lit says for any real change there has to be action or works. I guess I am a little lost on what you are after. Do you just want to feel better and hear again how you are not alone in your struggles?
