Ok... so i will start this post/thread off by saying i have been drinking today..

Well what im gona do is paste what i put in an email to someone here.. to say about my night..

I'm quite excited..

I have been drinking today.., quite abit.. but not drank for about .. well just under 2 hours because i went to a NEW meeting.

in a town called Marlow.. a town im very familar with and have had alot of fun there.. infact did alot of my early days of drinkin there with one of my best mates.. also worked there for  years..

it was just the sort of meeting i have been wanting

smallish room but with enuf people there... no preassure.. i actualy got there alittle late cos i had to hav a .. .. well use the loo when i got there.. .. i dont think there was a well i cal it name call but well on other meetings it has been that everyone say theri name and length of sobriety.. i didnt see that.. maybe it happend before i got hter.e. but one good thing. ... in the other meetings they called out a name and asked you if you wanted to speak ... in this meetin they did NOT.. and for me at the MOMENT that is great.. i was so fucking tired though.. i was wanting to drift off.. but i stayed awake and listened quite abit..

i am gona continue drinking tonight i expect.. but i liked tonights meeting.. im so glad i went.. last time i went drunk .. i did not like it at all..  actualy this time i was thinking it must be more than half way through.. it was sposed to 1.5 hours but it finished after just an hour.. which i was pleased about..

ok running out of steam. just wantd to say.. .. hmm i might copy and paste some of this inot post on mip.. we shall see.

thanx for listening..

<kinda pleased about tonight... cept my drinking. obv>

Please dont say that i need to make meetings sober.. i know that..  And i know the fact im drinking today is not the best step. but i went to a meeting and i liked it. it was the sort of meetin iv been wanting... So wel shall see. . ok..

OK i think i was gona say more but at mo i shall leave it there..

So glad you not only made it to meeting, but liked it as well. Did you hear anything that tripped your switch? If not this time, perhaps the next time. Right when it's least expected, someone will say the very thing my heart has needed to hear, even tho my head didn't even know it. Hang in there, my friend. Hugs Wren

Hi Rob

Dont want to lose you in this.

If the answer is YES, you need to CALL and GET A RIDE, BEFORE you go,  thats REAL important.

Actualy i DID phone before but got no answer from the two people.. i was mainly phoning to make sure it was still on.. and ... MAYBE get a lift.. though i hadnt decided on that bit..

But i did phone, but as i said i got no answer from either number.. BUT REALLY i left it too late.... that was probably why!..

so i thought fuck it ... that id just go and if it wasnt on then id come back by taxi.. had phone on me and knew where cash point was ...... though.. for some reason the meeting was only 1hour instead of 1.5 hours for some reason. .. good job i didnt go for last half of meetin as i wonderd..

Cripes, Rob, I hadnt even thought of the driving part. Too many movies showing buses over there I guess, hadn't even thought of a taxi. Good planning on your part. You even made the calls. I'm glad they talked about the family thing a bit, good for you to hear a subject that you can relate to. Feel me give you a big ol' hug. The elk are out there chirping at you, too. Love Wren

Yeah, I'll kinda miss them when they move back up into the mts. (that's mountains, Rob, LOL), but they'll be back in August. What I won't miss is jumping up and down to see if they're nibbling at my herb garden.......

I'm so glad for you that you found a meeting that feels more comfortable.  I know for me it took a while as well.  Now when i miss my regular meetings I am sad.

One day at a time...

I swear, Amanda, except when the bulls are in rut, all the females gather in groups getting ready, and they stand outside and chirp. All night long. I mean all night. It's the closest I can come to describing the sound they make. It's the darnedest sound, and they call to eachother when out in the woods eating, chirp chirp chirp. Drives my bulldogs batty. Once I got used to it, I love the sound. But the very first night they came down, I thought aliens were outside talkin'. The bulls, on the other hand, can sound like Big Foot stubbing his toe once they get worked up--first time I heard that I nearly wet myself......wren
