I just want to make sure no-one gets the wrong impression.

Good Morning Rob,

I dont have a lot of time this a.m. lost an hour with time change.  So I will write tonite, re: PM

Rob, AA is a Spiritual Program.  Religions are really never discussed or debated here.  Simple stuff,  the Program of AA would not survive any such debating.

We let all members have a Higher Power of their understanding, never question, never criticize, never debate the subject.

You are entitled to believe what you want.  You don't have to apologize, you are entitled to you opinion, whatever that opinion is.  That's how the Program has succeeded.

So it comes down to this, no point in attempting debating something that is NOT debatable, my dear.

And One of my very favorite sandwiches is Peanut butter, and bananas,  the combination is terrific,  I dont grill them, but i was thinking, maybe the grilling would make them more like a yummy scmoores. I dont know how to spell it. But its making me real hungry.

have to run now, have many things that I have to get done today, and i have some reading to do, before I begin my day.

A Big Hug.

yeah... there is a difference between having different perspectives on something and sharing them,,,  having disagreeing ideas and respectfully discussing them,,,,  and having an argumentaative debate in which people insult each other and insist that their idea is the perfect one and the other person is stupid or something.

I believe in my beliefs,,,  for the moment anyway,,,  if I didn't really believe them then they wouldn't be my beliefs, ya know?  but I know other people have different beliefs,, and some of them are really opposite to mine,,, and yet I know they believe their beliefs the same way I do mine...    well,,,  so that is life, eh? and yet we also have some things in common to build a relationship on.  I don't know any two people who have exactly the same beliefs, not spouses, not twins, not friends...  and AA tries to make room for that.

love in recovery,

amanda

Yeah, Amanda, that's right on. Like everything in life, oft times as we change so do some parts of our belief system. I say, any path that gets you to where you need to be is the right path. I can't imagine having the audacity to telling someone that their choice of spirituality is wrong simply because it isn't my personal choice. I've a sister that calmly called me up one day (married to a minister) and said "Chrissie, you do know that Mom and Dad are going to hell, don't you?". I calmly said "no, because I have no idea what is in their heart of hearts, let alone what will be there when they die". I got off the phone very quickly after that. I hope that I never ever become so egocentric that I would even assume to put God in a box and decide who He (or She, or They) is within my frame of boundries, let alone judge the rightness of others' beliefs. A dear friend of mine said to me once " God talks to us each differently. What he says to me may not be what he says to you". I really liked that, altho I use the term "Spirit" when in reference to my HP. We each have our own journey.  Wren
