I went to my first meeting in 1985. After finally taking the steps with a sponsor I stayed sober for 6 yrs., in AA. My alcoholic mind eventually told me my job was more important than going to meetings and working with others. Of course, I drank again and went in and out of AA for years. I racked up 14 DUI,s in my lifetime. Thank GOD, I never killed anyone, or myself, driving in blackouts. I recently retired after 47 years of working. I have been sober since 2/8/2016. It is nice to be able to go to meetings as often as I want now, and I feel more alive now that I don't need to punch a time clock anymore. I know I only have a daily reprieve ,and will die if I drink again. I already did the jails and institutions so that's all that is left , if I pick-up. It's great to be back in the AA forum too. I haven't logged on for years, but like AA, it is still here, and I wasn't "kicked out". My log in still works! Hoping you all have a great sober day and "I'll BE BACK"
