I was an alcoholic

Hi all,

I was an alcoholic. I was convicted of drinking and drinking a few years ago. I have stopped drinking alcohol since I came out from the rehab 4 years ago. Now I have got a better job opportunity in the Canada. I am desperately in need of a change of place. So I think it would be just perfect for me to go.

But, there is an issue.

There are some restrictions for persons convicted of DUI to enter Canada. So I would like to know about the Canadian pardon applications.

Has anyone traveled to Canada with a DUI? Since its not been 5 years since the completion of the sentence, I will have to apply for Temporary residence permit. How do I apply for this and how long does the whole procedure take?

Even though I have stopped drinking, looks like the mistakes of my past will not let me live happily.

I am looking forward to your replies. Thank you.

 Hey joshuaa. It's time to (re)visit step 9.

Where are you at with your amends process. If you finished everyone, it may be time to comb over again to see if that annoying financial amend that we conveinently sweep under the rug needs to be tended to.

Hello Joshua;
I'm Marc and I am Alcoholic. I haven't had a drink in over twenty years and I'm still an alcoholic.
For information on immigration to Canada I would contact the nearest Canadian Embassy to get the details.
Oh, Canadian winters are long, cold and I hope you like to shovel snow... :)

Good Luck;
Marc
