If he is sober; sober mind, sober body, sober spirit, then why do Written StepWork?

I am far too lazy for written step work, other than step four and the big book doesnt say anything about ongoing written step work except perhaps in connection with inventory. However It doesn't say anything against it either, other than being careful not to get morbid which comment is more about reflection than writing.
There is a train of thought about doing written first steps. I don't understand that. I didn't need any convincing, and I dont believe it is possible to talk yourself into the first step. To me, it was a no brainer. Having identified the problem I needed to get quickly to the solution, and it would have a dangerous waste of time for me to sit writing about step one.
Having said that, there are many people whom I admire in long term sobriety who like to write down the things that are important to them. It doesn't seem to do them any harm at all.
Very well said F.S. ... ... ... I totally agree ... In the beginning, I did not need any convincing either ... it only took a moment of clarity for me to know, without any doubt, that I needed help ... I needed a solution to my drinking problem ... and AA offered that to me ...
Writing out the fourth step was very important to me and although many 'Rehabs' require written steps all the way through the twelve, which is okay I guess, I got more out of the program by being 'open' to changing the way I think, than anything else ... and writing out the 4th step was just a good way for me to not skip over any issues that screwed me up to start with ... Having said that, I do think writing things down is a good thing ... at my age, I have a pad close by for writing down lots of things ... if I didn't, I never get all the things done that need do'n ... I'd never come back from the store with what ever it was I went there to get either, LOL ... it's good to write down your thoughts sometimes before they fly off into thin air ...
Just an opinion of an old drunk, and it oughtta be yours, LOL ... ... ...
Love you guys and God Bless, Pappy

Well at least Fyne Spirit is honest about being lazy. :)
Lately I've been pretty bummed about my forums not getting much play. So I decided to tear them down and rebuild with some Joe and Charlie BigBook WorkShop stuff.
Here is an example of the kind of material you will find in there...
*** Begin Example ***
An alcoholic armed with the facts about himself can help another alcoholic learn about the disease of alcoholism.
Now we can take that very unique knowledge and carry that to another human being and help them understand what their problem is: the disease of alcoholism. Help them understand what their solution will need to be: a vital spiritual experience. Help them walk through the program of action, so they also can have a spiritual awakening and recover from their disease. We are the only people in the world who can do this.
*** End Example ***
Drug Addicts masquerading as Alcoholics don't have the Mojo a Real Drunk has. And a Real Drunk with His Shit in writing has clout.
I hope this answers the question.

I am not sure what the question was. But here is one. Do you take the paragraph above to mean that when you go on a 12 step call you ought to take your knowledge, the big book, and your written step work to read to the newcomer?
I used to carry my Taurus with me in my Taurus(car) when I went out (or was it the 'Glock') ... ... ... but I leave it at home now cause of the chemo treatments ... and well, my wife does the drive'n and the Taurus makes her nervous, especially with a sick person 'on board', ... LOL ...
