Because sometimes I can have a little fun crafting a decent reply to the same old same old stupid questions.
'Why is it so hard?'...
Well that one is a bit different and brings back a memory of HighSchool Biology class discussing Human Anatomy during which some Dumb Blonde asked the teacher:
'What is the name of the bone in a man's pecker?'
Recovery won't happen by Osmosis so you will have to put some honest effort into it and I understand that this can be difficult. :)
Glancing at the roster of new posts I see there are a few NewComers and/or Relapsers in need of some FirstAid. WellByGolly, My Site is equipped to handle such a situation with ease: http://www.weekendwinnerworkshop.org/BrownBase/FirstAid.html and for a thorough written Step One http://www.weekendwinnerworkshop.org/JoeAndCharlie/Brown/JCWorkShop.html Do the written HomeWork they suggest.
And also because;
I'm Marc and I'm a RealF(n)Alcoholic.
A DrugAddict's identification as an Alcoholic
is no good at all since it is dishonest.
They flunk StepOne and I don't waste my time with them.
I'm a member of Alcoholics Anonymous at large, I'm StrictlyAA and have no affiliation with outside enterprises nor am I engaged in E-Commerce.
I do not work with Drug Addicts because I don't have the pertinent experience to identify. I won't support NA either.
And last but not least I do not particularly care for individuals or organizations masquerading as an AA Group to profit from Tradition Seven.
There is an Illiterate SadClown on this forum... Well, maybe more than one. :)
So I post here on occasion in the hope that these individuals will get serious about sobriety.
Venting is fun!
Marc, you'd be hard pressed finding people that never messed with drugs and strictly drank booze. I know of only 1 guy and he is 81 years old. And even he admits to puffing the magic dragon back in the day.
To ignore that drugs are 100x more available in 2017 than in 1933 makes one a blockhead. Some of the greatest aa members I've met have hard drugs mixed into their experience and they have more to offer than "true alcoholics" because we can relate to having issues with a lot of substances.
I consider myself a real alcoholic that did drugs to the same extent that I drank. Every single promise in the big book came true for me after some work and everyday I stand ready to pass on the thing that not only killed my active drinking, but also had the power to wipe out the drugs as well.
We nicknamed my type "dualies". If that makes me less accepted into the big boys club, so be it. I will stay down here with the pions.

Drinking booze and being an alcoholic are 2 different things. I personally think that we have a high number of non alcoholic drug addicts lying their way into AA membership. The problem with non alcoholic drug addicts in AA starts with the fact that they can't work AA's 1st step consequently they can't work the rest and there is no way around it! There are quite a few more AA program violations that I won't address right now, but many of them are honesty based, where AA is a program of rigorous honesty.
By the way, I tried pot, but was never addicted to it. Having tried it doesn't make me eligible for NA membership nor does my drug/alcohol addiction.
Can someone tell me why non alcoholic drug addicts prefer AA over NA or one of the drug specific NA derivative programs?

One would have to be deaf, dumb and blind to be unaware of the narcotic epidemic we have today. I'm not a blockhead I assure you. I'm an alcoholic and problems other than alcohol are of no interest to me.
I had the feeling my post would flush out a Druggie and it did. :)

I do not know the answer to that question.
Maybe I'm special or something. :)
Ain't it lucky for me that Dr. Bob was a proctologist.
Go ahead and try to escalate the insults if you want but be advised that it will be an exercise in futility for you.
