I have noticed that in the past week or two there have been a lot of new replies being added to discussion threads that have not had any previous activity for several years. In some cases, the original commenters and/or the subsequent participants in those threads no longer contribute here, and haven't done so in a long time, and are most likely unaware of these new replies.
While there's certainly no harm caused by replying to these very old threads, I thought it might be a good idea to point out to some of the new members here that they are doing this, in case they didn't realize it and are hoping for further responses from the previous contributors to those old threads. You might want to take a look at the date info shown on the left, under the most recent replies in the thread, to see if you are responding to a thread that has not had any activity for a long time.
(in fact, I'm not even sure how you guys are even FINDING these very old threads so you can resurrect them with these new replies - my view of the forum shows threads with the most recent activity at the top, and I would have to scroll back many, many pages to get to these old threads from several years ago - perhaps the thread order is not shown like this for others?)
..... I bet I know what's up - At the bottom right on the main page for this forum (the page that lists all of the thread titles), there is a selection for "Sorted By...." .
My selection is "last modified". If you select something else, you may be looking at very old threads that have not been active for a very long time.
So if you want to concentrate your participation here by commenting in threads that are actively being read and are being responded to very recently, make sure you have selected "last modified" so all of the threads will be listed from top to bottom on that basis.
I love using the search option to find discussion on topics I'm interested in. I have gone back and followed people on here who have been long gone, reading all their topics for the time they were here... feeling as if I know them.
One user Joni Joni, who apparently passed away from cancer -- before I discovered this site -- I still think of, though I never knew her in her time here - I feel I know her, and her demeanor has stuck with me. What a wealth of information we have here! How amazing! People live on here - and that is awesome! Reminds me of The Diary of Anne Frank. We are all writing our recovery diaries in a sense here.

I'm the guilty one , I have been going through the threads, I don't know how I find them, I like the subject matter and respond to it, I figured others might respond and I did not know if original person posted would respond, I actually did not care either. I am doing this for my own sobriety and learning from these old threads.
Thank you and sorry if I offended anyone , I am finding some people do not agree with what I post, actually I find some people who have more time sober than me ( only 21 days), taking offended to some of my opinions on sobriety, it is kind of like a union hall using net credited service for seniority rights, but I like it and I am not going to stop posting my opinions because someone who has more sober time than me , feels I should be quiet.

Hi Bunchie! Hey, no problem, I just wanted you & any other new participants to be aware that you might be looking at really old comments if you're not sorting them based on "last modified", in case you preferred to be participating in the newer discussions.
Not sure what you're referring to regarding people not agreeing with you, but we're all welcome to have our own opinions and experiences here, including you. Glad you're here.
Thank you, Davep appreciate the help and advice, I like this forum and appreciate everyone's help, it really helps me keep focused on sobriety along with meetings. There was someone who felt I was not sober enough to offer opinions, no big deal I just disagreed with people going to meetings and then drinking a couple of days later and repeating the behaviour, maybe I am wrong but I suggested if your going to continue this behaviour, your doing yourself a disservice, so you might as well just continue to drink until you hit rock bottom and maybe you will have a full commitment to sobriety. I am not talking about someone who relapses after 2 or 3 years, I am talking about the people who go to meetings and continue to drink right after meeting. I think that's wrong.

The WayBackButton is located at the bottom of the threads display page.
Go to the line that has Page 1 and select a higher page number to go back in time.
