i don't understand this format and I have no idea if this is proper but, from what I've heard you're an accepting lot. And God bless you for that.
I come to you extremely flawed and extremely overwhelmed by my demons.
I have so so many gifts and so many things for which to be thankful.
my problem is...I DRINK.
I am 39 years old and I never touched alcohol until I was 21. And it never affected my life until I was 31.
Alcohol has consumed me and I know of its devilish ways. And I am going to go to local meetings. I did go to one already but it wasn't the proper format for a first timer.
I come to you all today to commiserate. To help. And to get help. If there is any way...any way at all I can help any of you, please let me know.
substance abuse is strong and it pulls us all kinds of different ways. But with God, fellowship and structure, I think we can beat it.
Welcome to MIP TW, ... Glad you're here ... we always welcome new members input, whether or not you're new to AA or an 'old timer' ... we all stay sober work'n with each other ... together, we can achieve and maintain a sober life ...
Love ya man and God Bless, Pappy

Welcome Thewager! I got sober at roughly the same age as you and it has been 7 years and change. I first reached out on this very site and it was a blessing.
