I got one number and the PB number ... guess that gets me $4 ... still $16 in the hole, as usual ... oh well, I'll look at the bright side, at least I don't have to put up with the TV crews beat'n down the door for interviews, or the thousands of relatives poppin' in to see me that I never knew ... LOL ...

I think it's rigged. I don't believe the balls that had my numbers on them were even in the machine.

I didn't win either dag nabbit!
That could have been just the thing to help me win friends and influence people! EVERYONE would love me...I'd have letters, emails, visits, phone calls....if I still had Facebook, multitudes would befriend me. I would never be lonely......until the money had run out, that is. I'm a giver, and would have fallen for every down on the luck story I would have heard.

hey pappy.....I even prayed..."God if it is your will, please let me win the Powerball."
No Joke! That was really hard!!!!!! I wanted to beg God for me to win the Powerball.
Oh well, I guess it wasn't His will. So I will stay poor in pocketbook, but hopefully rich in faith

(Oh! Major pet peeve of mine....to read about someone who is rich winning the lottery! I don't even want to know about any of the three who won, because I don't want to cop a resentment if any of them are loaded.)disbelief

Bunch of hopeful "winners" turn to "whiners" (and I am not one of them in this video, btw )

Really, though....the little girl at the end crying in this is precious! (...and very sad at the same time).

LOL, that was kinda funny, especially the little girl ...

The thing is with me, I look at it as a game ... a game of chance that has absolutely no guarantees ... it's simply for fun, and anyone spend'n a small fortune to up their chances of winning is simply be'n foolish .... ya can't win if you don't play, so of course I dumped $20 just for my amusement ... not expect'n anything in return, kinda like we do here in AA, you know, help'n others with no expectations of get'n anything back, but, we get back so much more than non-AAers ever realize ...

I don't know about pray'n to win the lottery cause it's like get'n somethin for noth'n .... My feel'ns are the Lord rewards hard work, and I doubt He's just go'n to dump a fortune in your lap just for the heck of it .... and the promises most people make when pray'n to win it, probably go right out the window when they do win ... not sure I want to be held 'accountable' at judgement day when asked how I spent the money, know what I mean????? ...

Remember the poor lady in the Big BB who gave only two pence to the coffers in the church??? .... Christ told them that she had given much more than they had ... cause it was 'all' she had ... and then there's the quote He also made, 'It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter Heaven' ....

So be very careful what you pray for ... you just might get it ...

Very good points indeed, Pappy. Yeah....I kind of felt guilty for even bringing it up to God....didn't stop me though. But I didn't make any promises to Him if I did win.....darn! that's what happened! Nah, just kidding...I did read what you posted and it does make sense. I had forgotten about that lady giving all she had and the camel quote--which I love.

Hey, you know....I have heard quite a few stories about people winning the lottery and it messing up their lives. It seems to me that there was even a t.v. show "How the Lottery Ruined My Life" or something like that. I never watched it. I don't need to find out how people mismanaged millions of dollars when I have been able to do the same with far less than that. I used to watch this show...Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous and that Leach guy (I'm not being rude--that's really his last name) was going all around the mansions and talking in his heavy British accent. I'd watch it, be amazed at the luxurious homes and furnishings, then afterwards wonder why I was so depressed while sitting in my modest one. It took me a while to realize that I was feeling envious. So, I stopped watching it. Soon I got into the PTL show (Praise the Lord) and got amazed at Tammy's mascara instead. I sent those people money because they were telling viewers we had to give all we could in order to receive. (What's the word for me......oh it's..... "Suckerrrrrr!!!!!"")

And it is better to give and not expect anything from it. I know that now.

Well, if it is rigged then what about the three people who won?

(that little guy is juggling lotto balls and the other little guy has two loser tickets)

Hey Pappy....
I was looking up AA related stuff and came across Jim and Tammy on it....I would post it, but I don't want to get too crazy in posting links to other sites and am trying to be particular in which ones I choose. I can send it to you if you are interested. Anyway, it was talking about the two of them used to be spiritual leaders and referred to him as something I cannot post on this site...and Tammy as the "Mascara Queen of God"....
...and yes, I am sure their dog appreciated my modest donations, as well as others more generous ones, while snoozing in quiet slumber in his nice air conditioned house.
