What I find marvellous about AA is how it came about from Bits and Pieces of This and That from Here and There. And it all fits together and works well. Gee, I wonder what kind of being would have the love and skill necessary to create such a MasterPiece. :)

That 'Being' you refer to, I call God ... and YES, it IS a Masterpiece ... when we come up with enough 'common sense' to use it in our lives ...

That was just beautiful, Marc. And Pappy's post made it more beautiful.

I dragged out my little monkey.....it is not very clear in my pic, but he is holding onto a plaque of the Serenity Prayer--which I am going to do more than ever.

Hey there leavetherest,
I haven't posted here in a while. Dropped by and saw your posts figured I'd share some support, strength and hope!!
Been sober 10 years, coming up on 11 in a month.......even though each day is as important as those 10 years!!

I have a deep fondness and connection with the Serenity Prayer. Thanks for bringing it up and the origin of it!!
I use it everyday in many ways. I find it to be a profound centering prayer. When my mind is not where it needs to be, the serenity prayer brings it back to where it
needs to be!! Back to the center......

Working the steps, the serenity prayer, and the concept of thinking the first drink through are probably the pillars that keep my sobriety going.

Being of service to the people in and out of the program is also a mainstay of my own sobriety!!

God Bless you and yours leavetherest.......from us and ours!!

I hope to be a part of this message board more in the future. I always learn more when I come around!!

Thanks for letting me share.........Pablomoses!!
*kudos to all you old timers out there....you guys continue the program and increase the sobriety out there and for yourselves......hope to share more!!

Oh Wow!!!! LOLOLOLOLOL! It does look like a large cookie! And a yummy one at that! I oughta bake one that size and take another pic down the road and see if you notice the difference Pappy! Or maybe I'll just go all out, bake a pizza and have him holding that--if I can figure out how to keep the pepperonis from sliding off! Now I'm hungry and I just ate!

Hi Pablomoses....I must have been typing while you were...just found your posting.

Thank you so much for your kind posting. And 11 years of sobriety is so wonderful an accomplishment! I almost got to 2-1/2 years myself :(
Oh well, I am grateful for my 2 plus months now because I didn't think I could get anymore time under my belt. And you know, Pablomoses, I owe this board to that because I could come here 24/7 and Pappy, justadrunk and others have really helped me get back on track. (Now, I may have had to respond to my own postings if I came in the wee hours of the night and no one else was here, but that's okay...I talk to myself all the time anyway...ha!)

It is so great that you came back here to let folks know how you are doing. So many of the posters go and don't do that and I miss them. Thanks for sharing with us and hope to "see" more of you here.

And yummy brownies, Pappy. I just finished some ice cream with chunks of candy bars and other things in it (I forgot the name --maybe 'kitchen sink' ice cream?) Before that I had 3 mini Snickers. Are you hungry yet?
