"They are restless, irritable and discontented, unless they can again experience the sense of ease and comfort which comes at once by taking a few drinks....." Doctor's opinion AA book.
These 3 withdrawal symptoms are a package deal for alcoholics of my type and therefore abstinence alone was not the answer. That's where AA's 12 steps come into action, to provide a platform and a practical program of action for long term recovery. Basically a change in lifestyle and personality, so that my sober life does not burden me with abnormal swings in emotion.
Excellent post Gonee, ... I pray that you and your family are recovering from your tragic loss ... may God show you the way through this period of time ... and may you feel the comfort in knowing He is beside you all the way ...
Love you and may God Bless you, Pappy

Thanks Pappy. God is with us. I really feel good to share again. The tragedy of my grandson has strengthened us as a family. The children are involved deeper in church work.
How are you and your Mom getting along ... and is your place ready for the cold Winter yet??? ... I know it's early to talk of Winter, but the weather's been a little crazy all over the place ... hope you're getting settled in okay ...
Love ya and God Bless, Pappy

Hi Pappy,
We are doing well, thanks for asking. Mom has been having a rough time for a while. I do all I can to help...care giving is exhausting (but you already know that!). Its one day at a time...still sober. I hope all is well with you! (And everyone else!!)
