My wife who previously had an addiction problem before we met and went through the program to get clean 15 years ago started drinking a few years ago. It has slowly progressed into a serious problem and I am pretty new to understanding this and trying to get her help.
With some help from her parents I am trying to plan an intervention as soon as possible. However the few places I was recommended quoted me $7500 as a standard fee. I simply cannot afford that. It is enough of a stress on my finances to consider the costs of any rehab program, and figuring out what I can do with our children (7 and 4) while she is in a program.
Can anyone recommend any places or people I can contact in the NJ area?
Sorry I am not in NJ to give you info for that.
I will say that perhaps if you attend an Al-Anon meeting in your area you will meet someone(s) there who can help you. You can find information on meetings for them by searching Al-Anon meetings and NJ. This will serve another--it will help you learn more about taking care of yourself and your own needs when you are dealing with a loved one who is addicted to alcoholic. It would be great if your wife went to an AA meeting to get help for herself. Unless she is willing to do this on her own and without being ordered to by you or her parents, it will be difficult for that to happen. She may have to hit her bottom before she is ready.
