Had one of those Home Group meetings....

You know the ones you wish wouldn't end...they go a bit overtime and the recovery shared is top drawer.  It was one of those and the consequence for me is that feeling of gratitude which confirms that I am in the right place which was suggested to me by a power greater than myself and listening to others who love to support the recovery of everyone else in the room.  The topic was about the spirituality of our program and I shared about finding it recently in one piece of our literature "Came to Understand..." authored in 1974 first.  I had time to read it cover to cover as my wife and I tripped to Oahu, back to the Army Medical Center to have a post op inspection of my head surgery.  They liked it and the outcome on my health...I am accepting their diagnosis.

We dropped off our donation of AA and Al-Anon literature as they had none on board which I was hoping for after the surgery triggered my brain into running itself without any way for me to change it.  I learned more about my disease from this because my type of drinking use to do the samething...mess with the brain and it will do nasty payback stuff.  I needed to redirect it and thought our literature which I think about on a daily basis would do it only I wanted the black on white to help me.   They expressed gratitude and even suggested a future talk story with their mental health department...its in Gods hands now.     Thanks for letting me share.  ((((hugs)))) smile

Thank you for sharing! I could feel the enthusiasm coming through from your words when you described the power of that meeting. Those are the best kind, as the uplifting feelings stay with you and continue to shine for days. Sometimes it even takes a few days for it all to sink in.

That's great that you were able to donate some literature, I'm sure people will benefit from that! I hope all goes well for you and you're in my prayers!

Yes, Jerry, you also continue to be in my prayers as well ...

And I personally want to thank you for you & your wife's donation to the V.A. literature system ... if it only helps one person, it was worth it ... I am grateful that you are a part of this family here at MIP ... love ya man ...

Akua Bless you,
Pappy
