My names Brian and Im an Alcoholic. I just wanted to stop by the board to share my journey, and hopefully shine a light into anyone, or as many people, at meetings or wherever as I can.
If you haven't quit fully. Pour it out now. Its amazing how quick we start getting better mindsets out of WANTING to be Sober. Smoking is absolute garbage too. I am sober and Im no longer feeling like crap, but my life has all kinds of problems. People and everything. A real great definition of sober is: Son Of a B*tch Everythings Real. I cant think of anything worse than messing with a mentally incapacitated person. The worlds a big place. All kinds of stuff going on. Where on earth can we get a solution to our problem/ disease? Answer: In AA, and in Sobriety. In carrying our knowledge to others. Just to try and help. even if I only mildly help one in a big group. Drinking left me sick, hurt, depressed, mentally ill, jobless, in trouble with law, family, out of friends, ruined relationships, made me look terrible, feel awful among many other things. But its amazing how quick we start bouncing back when we pour out the liquor. When We WANT sobriety and we keep it. I was listening to some good music today, I even heard a song by Alice Cooper called Hey Stoopid. I really get to thinking a lot and I swear this old drink really can make us dumb. If I can shine a light into anyones head who has a PROBLEM. And I have spent time learning and living with this problem then that's all im here for. Knowledge is Power. Think Think Think.

Hows your judgement? Good? Bad? lol.
Youd never believe what I can see in my sobriety now!!. Whoa!
If I can help ANYONE who had a problem like me its all I want.
Sometimes things aren't so lovely on this sunny day... And other places they are. But...I was real DRUNK for ten years and im only alive by an act of god. Youd never believe how much better sober living is. In fact I want sobriety for you so bad I chose to come here and write this for you! Yes. YOU! Its really that awful: Alcoholism.
Sincerely, just trying to help.

They say you can't make a cake without breaking a few eggs ... well sir, you sound as though you're well on your way to having a piece of cake ... good job ...
One key to long-lasting sobriety is to continue to add to your AA tool box so as to better prepare yourself to help others recover ... cause like PC said, we must give it away in order to keep it ...
Again, great job ...
Love ya and God Bless, Pappy
