Hello:

I am here because I need some place to go for support and inspiration. I was sober 2 years, but began to drink again. I now live in a small town where I truly can't go to meetings because of my profession... won't go into that here. I really need an online meeting and perhaps some time soon a sponsor. I never did actually work the steps or get a sponsor during my 2 years of sobriety, so I guess it is not a big surprize that I relapsed. I am currently reading the book "Changing for Good."  It is very good. Anyway, I will be checking in regularly and trying to stay on track. Thanks for listening, Am

Welcome to the board!  If it is the best that you can do for now,, then..  it's a good start. I posted earlier on the literature and stuff ...  links to it all... and I can do it again so it is currently on the board.  The literature is important.

This one has the 12 Steps on it, if you scroll down you can click on each one: http://members.aol.com/_ht_a/sobertransitions/index.html

This one is the Big Book online:

Here is how to contact the headquarters in New York to order literature directly, or to ask questions and get whatever info you need: http://www.aa.org/en_information_aa.cfm?PageID=48

here are some recorded things that some people like:

Okay, those are the basics..

keep coming,

amanda

Hi There and Welcome!

Glad you found us here.  have you read any Gorsky Books, you can find one on Relapse Prevention, here on this site, in the book store.

I think Amanda covered all of the online reading that is available.

So write and let know how you are doing.  And once again Welcome.

I think you will find this Board an Amazing Place with a lot to offer you.

I had just relocated to an area, where I did not know anyone, and happened

to stumble onto this site, and it was an incredible feeling of being "Home"

Looking forward to more communication

Toni

Thanks so much. It really is a relief to know I have an option for a community. I have read the Big Book.. loved it. I just ordered the 12 step book and found that forum and plan to start there. Again thank you.

Are there any other online meetings? I noticed the Tues and Sat ones here.. 6:00 pm Pacific. Was wondering if there are any other meetings that are good other days of the week. I will check out Gorsky also. TY!!

Welcome to the board...it sounds like you are on the right track. If there is a city close by that you could go to face to face meetings , that is an option also. I know many people who travel to meetings.

Keep coming here, lots of great experience, strength and hope shared .There is also the Step board here.

(((Hugs)))
