This reminds me of something I heard at a meeting. I used to go to a noon meeting and one of the regulars was this fabulous mature southern lady, who reminded me very much of the 'Julia Sugarbaker' character from designing women. Very classy, but she could be..... colorful... when she wanted to be. And she once said:

"When aah was drinkin', aah used to tell mahself that aah had a real 'zest for livin'. Turns out aah was just makin a pig of mahself".   smile

...And she probably was drinking when she made that ridiculous remark.

I guess I had a little too much time on my hands this a.m. and looked up this woman who quoted that. I have never heard of her. What I did discover, is, as she quoted..she loves her alcohol. Maybe the quote should read...."I don't like the word alcoholic...I like to think of myself as an advanced drinker in denial."

She's a beautiful woman. It's a shame because if she really is an alcoholic, it is going to do a number on her looks as well as her insides. And I don't think it is good for anyone especially someone who is in the media as much as it appears she is, to promote excessive drinking.

I used to refer to myself as a 'Heavy Hitter' and not an alcoholic. Imagine that. The old timers were not amused.
