Once I started realizing that my own negative thoughts were controlling me and causing me more pain than anything anyone else did or said, then that caused a major attitude adjustment in me. It seemed after that started happening, people were "nicer" and "friendlier" to me. I have those words in quotes because that was my perception of how I was treated by others and not necessarily the reality.
