Although this online article is from 2012, I came across it and loved it and wanted to share. I think it certainly bears repeating and it gives me a special kind of feeling inside knowing that someone did something to ensure that this holiday, which has been made into a drunk fest, be celebrated in a sober more respectable manner so that recovering alcoholics, as well as non-drinkers and children, could be in an alcohol-free environment and have a wonderful and festive time. I know in Richmond, that it is still basically a drunk fest (St. Patty's Day was celebrated this past Saturday) and it is very sad. I never attended any of the events here as I much preferred to drink alone and turn green here instead of drink green beer in public.
