I stopped using mouthwash because of the alcohol content. I noticed in my googling search this am this slogan for it..."Fresh Mouth One Day at a Time". Made me smile and wanted to share it. I am not supposed to post ads on here, so cannot give the company name and I believe that there are non-alcoholic mouthwashes you can buy in drug stores. I just don't think of buying or using it myself because I figure that all the cigarettes and coffee I use cover up the offensive odors.

You're right, there are mouth washes out there that don't have any alcohol in them.  Back in the day, I was always worried about people smelling my whiskey breath.  Today, that's one less thing to think about.  Mike D.

Thanks BTY!  I'm grateful I don't have to cover up the alcohol smell/odor any longer.  What a job that was.  I was only fooling myself.  Everyone, but me could smell the alcohol.  It's hard to mask it when it oozes from your pores.   biggrin

It is especially sad to smell it on others at the AA meeting. Not as sad for me if it is a newcomer, who maybe decided that day after he/she  had been drinking to go to a meeting. But really very sad for ones that have been coming to the meetings on a regular basis and even pick up not a white chip, but chips marking their "sober" time when they are still drinking. I hope that does not sound judgmental of me, and I know I am not supposed to take others' inventories; however, I am very concerned and worried about them. I haven't ever said anything to that person or any other person that goes to the meetings here when they happen. Just one of those situations I don't know what to do to help, so do nothing for fear of making things worse which may cause them to not come back to meetings at all.

Oh Lord, ... years ago, that's how I stayed plastered at work ... two big bottles of mouthwash per week ... figured if others smelled it, they'd just think I was very conscientious of bad breath, LOL ... that sh*t nearly killed me, seriously ... talk about shutting your liver down, ... wow ... don't know why the good Lord kept me alive ... that's a memory I'd like to be rid of !!! ... (oh, it brings on 'extreme' pain physically, in case anybody is wondering ... ... ... learned about that crap in the AA rooms too ... had to try it ... so unless you want to come to know complete and total 'misery', leave that sh*t alone ...) (it's a lot like drinking 'anti-freeze' ... they say ...)... ... ...

Sorry you went through that kind of thing, Pappy.
(think the same thing happened here a few months ago. not with me.....

...the stuff started disappearing really fast and the mouthwash smell was so strong, it was repugnant. Possibly what you went through or masking something else. that and cough syrup I just kept my mouth shut, you guys know me by now.....that was extremely hard for me to do. I can only control my own alcoholism. just prayed.)
