Hi there!

OK so far. No beer for a week, sleep is a problem, I seem to get a burst of energy late at night. Routine will kick in soon I`m sure. Several posters have PMd me which has been much appreciated. The weekend is here, the time I`d normally drink more beer, so a little awkward, but I`m determined to overcome it.

I was driving today and starting singing along to U2, realised it`s not something I do often anymore. Have noticed I`ve cracked a lot more jokes at home, which is always a happy place, but generally not me actively making the jokes. Here`s a thing that gives you motivation, my eldest lad Ben, tells me they had to talk about heroes at school having discussed it in English. He told everyone his Dad was his hero, "honest Son am I?" "Yes dead right, you`re just great at everything".

We had a chuckle last night myself and my wife, he asked me where the beer wasOh how we laughed when he left the room!

I`d post more, but as for now I`m hardly placed to offer much advice, I tend to read posts and as a consequence I`m learning from others advice and experiences.

Hi Pauly, greetings from sunny Stockport near Manchester UK (Ok I lied about the weather!)

The sleep problems that you are having seem to be normal. Without the alcohol to suppress your body, you may well find that you wake up at odd times and feel tired at others. This will sort it's self out given time. Have you experienced more intense and vivid dreams?

Congratulations on 1 week! Weekends can be hard if you are used to drinking then, just go 1 day at a time or 1 hour / minute at a time if needed.

Well done,

Bye for now

Chris.

Wow Pauly! Congrats on your first week!!! You are a hero to me too! Don't worry about the sleeping bit , that will settle sooner or later. Good luck this weekend, I understand it will be extra hard on you, but remember you got by the previous weekend.

Good luck -- one day at the time!

Franklin
