(I am not sure if this quote was posted recently. If so, please forgive the repeat. I love this because it means to me not to expect my HP, who is God, to dig me out of the mess I got myself into. He will provide the tools necessary to help me, but I am the one who has to do the work and make the effort to change my life. That sounds like what I have heard about AA as well--providing the tools to help me stay sober--however, I  have to take the necessary "steps" and do some work myself and not rely on just going to meetings to stay sober. And I think it is important for my continued and life long sobriety not to let myself live in such a cluttered mess and forget where I store my shovel and other "tools". )
