Workmen next door have been banging, sawing, drilling fixing up apartment across the hall all last and this week which makes it hard to work, problems with SO.. his ex called with another "problem", which she has always done and he always jumps, and I just keep telling myself I don't have to drink, I don't have to drink.

anyway, sorry for the unload. just coming here for online support helps.no

Drinking over our everyday problems only increases our problems.  If you're like me, it wouldn't give you any relief, either.  Blessings, Mike D.

You are right Mike D. I have to take the not so great days along with the great days and deal with them sober, not drunk. Never got to the point where I even considered drinking yesterday and I am grateful for that.

The workmen next door won't be there forever ... and your SO's attitude and/or motives concerning his ex is not a problem that you can do much about ... stick with improving your 'spiritual' growth and the rest will take care of itself ... and for sure, drinking would only compound any problems you have in this scene ...

 x2

I'll add:  we have to have a bad day every now and then to really know when we're having a good one.

I think I am halfway expecting myself to react the way I did when i was drinking and used any excuse to drink. It always amazes me when I don't and for some reason I feel abnormally normal, whatever that means. it really helped just coming here and sharing. I haven't been able to get as much sleep and attend as many meetings because I am having to work alot more hours each day. It is all up to me to take care of the bills here now and I am feeling pressured, so little things are bothering me more. But I am looking at it as a challenge and a sign that my HP wants me to know that I am capable of more than I think I am.

Thanks for your great postings. I was able to fix a quick cake and get to a meeting tonight.

Gotta get back to work.
