I was very surprised to see these mourning doves on a wire behind where I live yet again. The colder it got, I kept expecting them to disappear. I thought they would be in the south basking in the sun by now--not here where it has been snowy and so very cold lately.  These guys reminded me of the people in AA--sticking together even in adverse situations so we don't ever have to be alone again.

I researched these birds and I am glad I did as I found some comfort in what I discovered...........

White doves are a symbol of hope and peace for the future as well as love, as I already knew.

Mourning doves can symbolize messages and opportunities of growth (wonderful for me, as that is what AA means to me).

Turtle doves (which some people in some areas, I found, refer to mourning doves by this name...) stand for earthly love and friendship.

Brown doves mean that it is needed to give more thought to a situation which isn't so clear

Laughing Dove which is sacred to the goddess, Venus, the "Queen of Laughter....." meaning "there is a joke hidden somewhere in this situation". (For some reason, that reminded me of myself which since I have been sober am trying to find humor in things instead of being depressed all the time).

Ok, sorry..... my pic isn't showing up --it shows up before I hit submit and then "flies off" the page once I hit it. There were quite a few of them all side by side--very sweet. (I really need to learn how to do pics next)

Perhaps this might sound a little silly to some folks, but I'm pretty sure that those doves were sent especially for you.  A love-message, if you will.  The reason I say that is because these little birds certainly stirred your spirit, touched your heart, and had a positive impact on you.  Take it as a Valentine from Someone who loves you unconditionally.  Mike D.
