Valentines Day... memories pressed between the pages of my mind...

I have read a lot of post this morning regarding Valentines Day... everything from well wishes, to feelings of loneliness.

I remember the first Valentines day card I got in school.  I was in the second grade.  She put it on my desk.  And I immediately fell in love with her! LOL

Then I discovered she gave everyone in class a card!  How disappointing.  I wasn't so special after all....

Life has had many days like that.  But then I discovered Cupid.  The lil' angel with a bow and arrow that was shooting people with Love.

For my first thirty two years of life, I wanted to get shot with that arrow.  I just wanted to find that one person, that one special someone, the one that would rock my world.

Something happened once I entered the rooms of recovery.  I became Cupid.  I started shooting people around me with a strong doze of Love.

I kept aiming my bow at everyone who crossed my path and let the arrow of Love hit em'.

Then I started to see that there were other Cupids in the rooms.  And a few were shooting at me!  I could feel the Love they were sending my way.

Well, I wasn't going to be out done, so I really put on the bow and started shooting Love at people, sometimes more than once...

and one day my arrow ricocheted, bounced back and struck me!

I had found that one special person, And I started Loving myself, and it rocked my world!

Regardless of what any one else was or wasn't doing.

I hope you will be the Cupid in your life today... shoot everyone around you with a dose of Love, and trust that eventually, it will ricochet and bounced back at ya'!!

You deserve the love you give to others, and you deserve it from the same person that is sending it their way.

John

This is such a wonderful posting and is how I want to be--sending out unconditional love to everyone and not expecting anything in return. I have been the opposite quite a few times in my life--only expressing, sending love to those who I thought loved me and/or those I needed something from. Very selfish way of living and now that I don't need alcohol in my life and am wanting to change in so many ways, I have found I have the need to be like John and send love out to everyone. What a great way to live!
(((((John)))) thanks for being a role model for me. And I am so glad that you have met someone who makes you very happy and it sounds like is a lot like you.
