AA tradition Ten - Alcoholics Anonymous has no opinion on outside issues; hence the A.A. name ought never be drawn into public controversy.
I have used this 10th tradition in my personal transactions in business, personal relationships, politics, religion. It has saved me from a lot of problems and has helped me to focus on my personal recovery in AA. Together with the book of James from the bible, I have avoided personal confrontation with any individual or institution. I let God deal with them.
Ha! After I posted this, I read Pappy's follow-up to me for another post about "cleaning the dust bunnies" off my brain. I'm gonna be a busy gal and I hate dusting!
Hi everyone, I just want to say that I'm with you on Tradition 10. Since politics or religion and all those other outside issues weren't what was keeping me drunk, it makes little sense to focus on them in sobriety. None of those things matter if I'm drunk anyway. Oh, and by the way....it looks to me like some pretty good stuff pops out of your ole' noggin, Pappy. I always like to hear what you have to say. Thanks. Merry Christmas to all. Mike D.
