Shocking advertising in NZ
Permalink

Hi all,

Anyone in New Zealand will be familiar with the Liquorland bag. The words go like this:

Liquorland is not just a store it’s a state of mind. A land where people from all walks of life can find the beer, wine and spirits they need to make their lives happier, their parties noisier and their BBQ’s more sizzling. A land where the worst Friday beats the best Wednesday and weekends are even better than that. A land where the customer is King and prince is just some guy on the radio. A land that’s a stop on the way to a good time.

So come to loquorland! Cross the border, see the sights, expand your horizons, soak up another culture and meet the friendly locals. Liquorland, Theres no place like it!

Shocking!

Alcoholism is not just a disease, it’s also a state of mind. It’s a state of mind where the victims sometimes drink anything for the buzz, not to make the life happier but to make it liveable, the bbq’s survivable and to cope with the noise next morning. Alcoholism. A world where the worst hangover on a Wednesday is nowhere as bad as the worst weekend hangover (except when it is).

Alcoholism, where the victim is a victim of A**eho*es who write advertising like the example above. Liquorland a stop on the way to a good time….. I don’t think so.

Seeing this advert made me a little bit annoyed (understatement). Anyone here from NZ seen it?

Anyway, enough from me.

Hope you are all well.

Best wishes

Chris.

Chris, advertising has always been like that, maybe not so blatant.
Drink Millerlite and you'll get the hot chicks. Of course they never show the other side, some hungover guy praying to the porcelain queen the next mourning, LOL been there done that. Sure don't miss that part of drinking, now if I say something stupid or offencsive I remember it the next day and I remember how I got home too. Bob.

Fortunately, AA itself never becomes embroiled in opinion on this sort of thing.

Here's another good laugh : Modern Drunkard Magazine Online

Glad I don't have to live like that anymore (or engage in the arguments)
