Don't Forget About the Traditions... Tradition 1...

I posted this in a response and just thought I'd share it as a new topic.

Sometimes we get so caught up in the Steps we don't remember the Traditions.

Tradition One- Our common welfare should come first; personal recovery depends upon A.A. unity.

To me this tradition is very important in that "Personal recovery depends on AA unity", means that we have to have meetings, a support system and sponsor for personal recovery.  Important in that if I rest on my laurals, and don't continue with experiencing this tradition, I can let myself slip to bad spot.

Tradition 1 is also a useful guide when electing group officers. The lead consideration must be what is good for the group.

God bless,
