Hi all. I just wanted to put a note out there saying that I'm still here and very actively reading posts on a regular basis. I've been largely absent because I started a new job and moved six weeks ago, and since then life has been a whirlwind of transitioning. I'm enjoying it very much, but transitions are always hectic. Lucky for me, there's a meeting spot just a ten minute walk up the road. Anyway, I hope you all are doing well. -Adam

Hey Adam, great to hear from you ... and I like what Bob said ... Plus, that 10 minute walk is healthier in more than just one way, LOL ...
God Bless, Pappy
P.S. A move in is my future, thanks for the reminder to look for meetings 'ahead' of time ... just like not forgetting to take the dog, I need not forget to plan my meeting schedule now ... thanks!

Yes, moving is a big trauma - Tom (turninggrey) here from MIP is currently going through a major move to another state! Sending good vibes to the both of you : )

I didn't know that you're moving too!!!! Awe - no wonder everyone's cranky - with the new moon and all the new houses... lots of stress. I think I read it is men who are more affected by a new moon, and woman on a full moon. Lots of love Pap

Thanks Tasha, ... NOW, I feel better ... just needed some motherly love here, LOL ...
My wife got transferred to Nashville from Atlanta ... SO, God does work in mysterious ways ... ya see, the last couple years have been tough, with the youngest becoming handicapped 'n all ... we've been making monthly treks to Nashville all this time AND praying that somehow we could move back closer to our sons ...
Out of the Blue, BAM, she gets transferred ... they eliminated her old position ... had two other positions, gave the first choice to another person, and she got the remaining option, Nashville or retire ... We could not support both our sons without her job ...
This could not have turned out any better for us ... BUT, I'm the one here, fixing things and packing and so forth ... wow, what a pain in the rear ...
P.S. Would love to move to Florida Dean ... right next to you my brother, LOL ... ... ... better yet, next to your mountain chalet ... ... ... LOL

I was raised near Nashville and I love country music but hadn't listened to it too much since getting sober ... if I listen to it very long, I want to pull out George Jones, Hank williams, Merle Haggard, etc. ... then before you know I want to cry tears in my beers again ... so I have to take it in small doses, LOL ... One of my all time favorites was Keith Whitley ... his baritone voice coupled with his happy AND sad songs always struck a cord with me ... ummmm ... Keith died of 'alcohol poisoning', drank himself to death, as many of them do ...
But I digress, ... Yes Dean, the Lord has indeed answered our prayers ... you don't know how many times our youngest would fall out of his wheelchair (takes him about 2 hours to manage to get himself back in the chair) or need help with something we all take for granted and call on his friends and they wouldn't or couldn't come to help him ... his friends were great for about a year, but I think they have come to see him as a burden now, plus, they have their own lives to live ... sad ... but now, everything is going to be just fine ... Me and his mom will be close!!! ...
Thanks for thinking about us ...
Love ya man and God Bless,
Pappy
