I need all of you!

This message board has been a major bonus to my recovery.  I have grown to love all of you, and you are just as much a part of my AA family as those I see here in my own AA community.

This board stays alive and here for all of us in support through the posts and support and love we give to one another.

What an amazing gift we have here at MIP to be of service when it's convenient, by posting a simple story about our day or thoughts.

I am in AA today because of MIP.  I came here first, and all of you convinced me to go to my first live meeting.  You picked me up every time I fell down.  You pushed me in the right direction every time I steered off the path - and you still do!!!

I love this board!  I love AA!

I consider posting here as part of my service work, and remain committed to posting to this board that I feel was a HUGE gift from my HP when I was lost and broken hearted.  Now I can be here when someone else is new and afraid and googles alcohol addiction like I did.  I can help keep this board that saved my life alive.

It feels sorta quiet these days, and I hope to hear more from everyone again soon : )

I believe I found MIP much the same way, though I'd already been to meetings for a couple months. When I think of my entire sobriety journey, I can also say MIP has also been a part of it the whole time pretty much. That is pretty darn cool! It means a great deal to me also. When I first started posting here, I was so alone and scared in my own place. I needed a place to check in and get feedback from multiple persons at once. Here is my first post ever on MIP over 4 years ago:

From - 12/11/08

I am so grateful to finally be able to post on this site. I have been reading the messages and posts from some of you for about a month now. It has been a struggle and today I have 72 days. In my fellowship, that means I have a pinkchip that will turn red on day 90 God willing. This 72 days has been a period of great turbulence, but also tremendous growth. Not going to get too much into my story. I just wanted to say hi and that I look forward to being part of this forum and gaining wisdom and possibly giving back some of what has been given to me from reading the wise posts of others. I have really enjoyed the posts on the Language of Letting Go....and basically hearing about how some of you people with time get through life without drinking. Thanks.

Great post Tasha, ... MIP, ... It's that 'NEED for each other' that is the very 'Glue' that holds us together ... like 'two-part' epoxy, it's the catalyst that bonds us to each other ...

The wisdom we come across here at MIP is the same wisdom we hear in the meetings, it's the same wisdom that saves lives, it is the same wisdom that we all aspire to live daily ... this is a good place to be when we just want to sit back and contemplate life, or want some encouragement, or want to be of service, or want to chat with a friend, or want to complain about something we are having trouble with, or any other reason you can think of ... it's really a place to come any time any day and know that there are others just like ourselves, here, going through the exact same things we are ... for me? ... it's kinda like sitting in God's lap ... I feel comfortable here ... 'Love and Help' is freely received and given ...

Love you guys and God Bless,
Pappy

I know I haven't been here as much. I don't know why. I am sticking close to my program though. I had an incredible weekend. My sponsor took me and another sponsee to share where she got sober. We had a lovely adventure full of book study on the beach, lunch with her old counselor, and great meetings. I am so blessed to have my sponsor in my life. I am grateful for all of you at MIP. You help keep me sane in between meetings. And sometimes, I like to work through certain things here.
Love, Chaya

You do have a way with words...I'll agree with Rob on that. There is something special about this site....A little AA family. I've been away for awhile....It's good to be back.

Thanks for the eloquent reminder, Tasha. I have been so busy the last couple of weeks that I haven't been posting as much - and I haven't been going to meetings as much. I need to step it up again.
