Okay, so the wife asks over dinner, you want to watch that latest Clint Eastwood movie tonight? ... (We do this every couple months) ... I said what's the name of it, 'Perfect Pitch' or something like that? ... see says yeah, something like that ...

I said sure, there's not usually anything worth watching on the networks anyway ...

So here we are, all settled down on the couch and she orders the movie ... I wasn't paying attention cause I was taking a small TV apart at that moment (yep, long story) ... anyway, the movie starts and there's a lot of singing, pretty good actually ... I said it sure is starting off weird ... see says yeah ... I said what was the name of it again? ... she says 'Pitch Perfect' ... ... ... ... ... ...

I thought a minute and said, ain't there a singing movie out with that name? ... She said aaaw shoot, you're right and I just ordered it ... we laughed a minute and said hey, we both like good music ... (and it was pretty good ... if you like the TV show Glee, you'll like this ...)

Of course the movie we wanted to see was called something else and it bugged the both of us til she finally found out it was called 'Trouble With the Curve' ... Not 'Pitch Perfect'

Thought ya'll might find this amusing!!! ... it's great to be sober and find out all the stuff you used to be missing out on ...

Haha, Pappy. I bet you were wondering when Clint Eastwood got into musicals.

It is indeed a great night to be sober. I'm watching the hockey.

"Trouble with the curve" is also a good movie and will be good for another great nite to be sober (even though Clint does drink a lot of beer!)

Ha. That's like the Simpsons episode where Homer and Bart rent "Paint your wagon" because it has Clint Eastwood and Lee Marvin in it.

...Lisa asks if they got "Emma". When Homer says no, Marge enquires what  they did get.

Homer: Something very close, exactly along those lines. A Clint Eastwood, Lee Marvin shoot-em-up western!

Marge & Lisa: Hmmmm...

Bart: So prepare yourself for the bloody mayhem and unholy carnage of Joshua Logan's "Paint Your Wagon"!

Homer: With blood, I bet!

<later>

Homer: Agh! They're singing! They're singing, Marge! Why aren't they killing each other?

Bart:  Yeah, their guns are right there.

Homer: Wait, wait, wait: here comes Lee Marvin. Thank God. He's always drunk and violent.

<later still>

Marge: Who knew that Lee Marvin could do such marvellous splits?

Lisa:  He's dreamy.

Homer: [ejects tape] Ooh, why did they have to ruin a perfectly serviceable wagon story with all that fruity singing?

biggrin

Yeah, it was great AND funny ... the mere suggestion that the name was 'Perfect Pitch' planted the seed in my wife's head that that was about baseball, ergo the Eastwood movie ...

Then she orders the 'Pitch Perfect' which without thinking, seemed logical, only for it to be totally something we didn't expect ... but it was enjoyable just the same ...

The thing is, is when I was deep into my addiction, I may have 'hit the ceiling' by her ordering the wrong movie ... I can picture myself throwing a fit and using that as an excuse to drink even harder ... this was a good reminder of how I should be careful of 'expectations' ... it's great to have the 'peace of mind' to be able to accept things as they are and enjoy the moment without making a big deal out of it ... things happen ...

Good point - and so true - love that things don't have to be such a big deal - don't have to be so angry ALL THE TIME> very good reminder that this is truly the easier softer way!

Yeah, as I read this, I was thinking, "Clint Eastwood sings now?" I would HAVE to check THAT out. However several years ago, he was in an awesome movie called "Million Dollar Baby" which has nothing to do with anything we are discussing but is a good watch nonetheless.

Pappy, it sure sounds like you and your wife enjoy one another and that is pretty awesome. Thanks for giving us all a giggle.
