Today Im A Miracle

Last nite the non AH Co dep. spouse says she is sorry and she is so proud of me. Says she wants to get better. Me being being (uh hum) hard of hearing say what did you say. She replies again I want to get better. What a difference a day makes. The kicker is I was already over it and serene in my quiet place so it was just icing on the cake since I had already taken care of myself. I'm truly a miracle and God is working in my life, sometimes I lose that trust. But it's all a process and he has given me nothing I can't handle. Today I'm not in my head, have grown from this and not being obsessive compulsive. The day is looking positive. Happy New Year.

Hey Vic, ...

When I came to AA, I really wanted 5 or 6 years sobriety in the 1st month ... but when I learned it was a 'day at a time' program, I left and looked for an easier solution ... never found one, so I returned to AA ... this happened several times until I developed the 'patience' required to work the steps and to keep coming back until the miracle happened ... this took time ... and I also learned that 'anything' worth having, is worth waiting for and worth working for ....

Hi HJF...what a glorious new year it will be for you! We all have those little hiccups every now and again and as you practice you'll get used to it. Congrats!

Long story, but I ended up attending an Al-anon meeting tonight. One lady mentioned, that as her alcoholic husband got better, she developed the desire to get better also.

maybe the best thing to do is keep on being a good power of example.

That's right Rob, ... ... ... Many times our spouses will see something in us that they want ... 'serenity' ... ... ... and will seek it our for themselves ... that's one of the miracles of this program ...

That's the ticket : ) It's working for us, and it does take time and patience, but it's worth it! As Mark would say - work it cuz you're worth it!
