Ok. I took the plunge today and asked another womanFri be my sponsor. I can't take this misery anymore and I can't get the growth that I need from my temp sponsor. She is an awesome listener, but I need more right now. As soon as I asked she gave me assignments to keep me accountable. I need that. I am responsible, but not when it comes toswirling my program. I need structure and support in my journey. So, the time was finally right and I did it. She wants me to sign a contract outlining our expectations of one another. I like that. I see her tomorrow at a meeting. I want to believe the promises can come true for me too. They won't if I don't fully give myself to the program. So, here goes. Let's see what miracles may happen.
Love,
Chaya
I think there's an invisible principle of living...if we believe we're guided through every step of our lives, we are. Its a lovely sight, watching it work.
When you get the contract, maybe you could post a copy. I find with some newcomers, their memory of our agreement begins to fade after a few weeks as they start to feel better. A contract sounds like a good idea. All the best Chaya!

Chaya,
Congrats on your decision. Like Mike, I would like to see the contract also. I like the "in writing" idea. I always like to set up a game-plan of service work, home-group, # of meetings, stepwork etc before I start to work with people. Sometimes I put it in a email, but I like your sponsors idea.

I just post on here on my phone since I don't have Internet at home, but here are the main ideas of the contract: honesty, 90 meetings in 90 days, daily calls informing her what I'm doing to stay sober for the day, daily calls to other alcoholics, no step work with another guide until worked them with her, sharing in meetings, no benzos/hypnotics, take at least one committment after 30 days, meet with her 1x week, etc. I like that it makes it clear to me. She told me who we will start going through the big book reading it aloud to one another. She seems structured yet she is so kind and upbeat. I'm excited and also a little nervous. Love, Chaya
