Clean house? You're kidding, right. I'm good at only one thing...making messes. My wife, on the other hand, is good at many things, including cleaning up those messes. Well, that's what she tells me at least. I do wash my own ice cream dish if that's any consolation. Okay, enough out of me.

A husband is someone who, after taking the trash out, gives the impression that he just
cleaned the whole house.
(This was me as an active drinker!!!)

Oh Lord, not you too Mr David ??? ...
I wash my 'ice cream' dish and spoon immediately following the pleasurable ingestation of the stuff ...
I find it makes it convenient to tomorrow night's pleasure ... LOL ... Ya know? ... We ARE nuts!!!

(my bowl and spoon never part, they stay in one spot ... my wife knows not to touch them ... they are ever ready for action ...)

A wife is someone who, after you've cleaned the whole house, asks "What about the trash?"

Oh, well, then my husband is in a whole different category. He just leaves out a SHERBET bowl, not ice cream, so I guess that's okay. And he lets me take the trash out so we don't fight over it. Good man! Hahaha (ok, I have seen him scrub a pan he burnt something in once. And he DOES make me lemon meringue pie each year for my birthday, and that alone is worth every dirty dish and bag o' trash).
Cute post, thanks!

chris

Did you just say "lemon meringue pie"? Me want some too. None for you, Roger.

Pie that requires ice cream on it are those like apple, Pecan, chocolate, Peach, Buttermilk, Blueberry, Blackberry, and cobblers and such ... in fact, it's mandatory to have ice cream with your pie down here ... just not on the meringue someone spend a lot of time on to making it look so 'pretty' ...

Screw the pretty as far as I'm concerned. You're going to eat, right? And not just look at it? Excuse me for being too forward; I'm a messy eater and presumptuous both at the same time. Now that's a northern thing (the forward part), just ask the politicians they'll tell you. Good for nothings anyway. Sorry, it's just the Halloween candy talking.

That is a small yard, Dean. And only a 16 oz? God, you were so lucky. I don't know about you, but for me alcohol always came first. I had to have a six pack totally digested before I made it to work. God, I don't miss those days. At least I have more free time these days; now if I could only get my fat *ss out from behind this computer. Thanks again for chiming in, Dean. Roger, I do believe, is still searching for some candy. He won't find it, though. I already ate it. Oops, my bad.

(Psssssst--- Roger, Ron made me two pies this year. The whole neighborhood shows up for my birthday pie, so we decided to keep one on the down low. You can sneak over for a slice, but don't tell anyone, okay?) You know, you can always just put the slice on TOP of the ice cream...

 biggrin

I tried to add a picture here, but it didn't work. no  I used to be able to add pics here. Getting older isn't helping my memory one iota.

Ha!!! ... Our southern politicians are clean eaters ... well, ... ... ... until they get to a barbecue, they are ... then they not only smear the stuff all over their face, they fall face down drunk in the middle of the plate ... LOL

Our politicians are nothing more than government licensed 'pan-handlers' ... ... ... always with the hand out for more, then they come up with the legislation to take it ...

Our politicians would do well to go to AA meetings ... Okay, let's not drag politics in here, my opinions there will not be inspiring to anyone ... LOL ... I'm a Viet Nam era Vet and I hate 'big' government ...

Live well and prosper ... ciao ...

Okay Chris, ... It looks like you've gone over to the 'dark side' with Mr David and some others (thank the Lord Tanin is taking a break ...) ... ... ...
you guys are starting to make me 'fat' ... okay, well, fat-ter ...

I'm going to have to stay off this site for a while just to lose some weight ... LOL ... or join FPEA or whatever ... (Fat Peoples - Eaters Anonymous ...
or maybe IC eaters anonymous or whatever ...) ... Now I've got to add 'pumpkin pie' to my grocery list ... or at the very least get a couple of pie shells
and make my own ... (you know pie shells at the store come in twos, of course ... ... ...)

Ya'll are making me crazy here ... I might as well just start snorting sugar and get it over with quick ... can you OD on sugar??? ... See? ...
See what you got me thinking of ... where's my BB, I need to get my mind off this line of thinking ... ... ... Bye!

Mr. David,

Got it off facebook (no surprise there!!) It was the pic I was trying to download onto my post and failed, so I figured I'd just make it my avatar for a few weeks. It brought back so many NOT fond memories, hahaha!

These years, not only will I remember the holy days in my life, but I can also ROCK THEM!!! ( by eating pie and NOT throwing it up)...mince, pumpkin, apple, raisin, pecan...the choices are infinite. Sigh. It's a wonderful life.

Since I've been sober I have gradually become something of a neatness freak. Not in every aspect of my life but particularly when it comes to the kitchen, and getting garbage out. My guests will testify that I often pick up their drink glasses before they're done with them... the old me wouldn't deal with it until the cupboard was empty and there were 37 dirty glasses all over the house. And then sometimes I'd go to the store and buy a new 4-pack of glasses

As far as trash - I have to haul my trash cans down a long, steep hill to the main road. I did that on foot. Once. Going down wasn't so bad, coming back up was (even without the cans). So they get hoisted up into my truck and I drive them down. That's one thing that amazes me is that even with the nagging back pain I have (which usually mimics a kidney stone), clean & jerking a 70 lb loaded plastic trash can onto the back of my truck doesn't bother me a bit. I'm more likely to aggravate my back standing around at the grocery store. I drive my wife nuts I think because I have to keep moving when we're shopping and she wants to stop and look at stuff and ask questions and discuss it, and I have to keep moving so my back doesn't start to throb at me. More than once I've eyed those electric scooter carts and thought "wouldn't it be nice..." and said nope, I'm not ready to be an invalid yet!!

OTOH, if the trash guys ever decide its ok to bring their truck up to the top of the hill to pick up, that's perfectly all right with me - I'll make sure they have a spot.

I really need to get my ass back on the treadmill. I was getting back into it, then we got a new dog and he doesn't like the treadmill. Not like he chases after me or anything but something about the sound of it really bothers him and he paces nervously the whole time it's running. So I have to put him outside if I want to treadmill and then of course he can see me through the glass door and immediately wants back in..... I know, excuses excuses.... I need to get my lazy ass in gear, period.
