Yeah, I've heard that expression before. Getting things 'exactly right' isn't something I agree with myself, but other people believe it's possible. I guess it goes along the same lines as our alcoholism, give or take. But for me, it seems to be a waste of some much needed energy. As far as excellence is concerned, I do believe it exists, but not entirely. We pride ourselves on making things right, but perfectionism is more of a liability then it is an asset -progress not perfection, remember. The rest -according to me, are a set of ideals we strive for everyday. Now that's what I call, progress.

Ive heard this phrase used once or twice in meetings..'an egomaniac with an inferiority complex'. At first, I thought it was funny (it is). Then I thought 'goodness, what a horrible thing to be!'. Then I realized 'oh wow, that's exactly ME'. That's me!! Holy crap. Have any of you heard this term being used? I think it probably describes many alcoholics.
Oh yeah...I hear that one all the time. It also correlates directly with "acting like King Baby." It's a combo of alcoholic "isms" which result in me thinking I am all that and a bag of chips, things, should go my way, but then acting like a wounded little child/victim when they don't go how I want.
All hail King Baby Pinkchip! I know so much about everything! What! How dare you challenge me! Waaaah! I hate you! Sound familiar?
Egomaniac with an inferiority complex is right.
