My 12th Day! :)

Well everyone, hit my 12th Day being Sober, doing good, been a long week at work, been really busy of late, work for the Military. I have a friend thats been sober for 12yrs that I do side work for on the weekends, he's been in AA for 13yrs, he called me for work this Saturday and we talked on being sober, AA and going to the meetings, he thinks I'm doing good! Might ask him to be my sponser and maybe hit a meeting with him! :)

Other than that, having a great time doing things with my family, feel like I have alot more to say than I normally do, laugh more, thinking much clearer, man, I feel like a jerk sometimes when I look back on my drunken self! Did my first Hockey Skate training the other day, boy, I'm out of shape, sure not 18 anymore, but the workouts are tough, and keeps me active and my mind free of any thoughts of drinking!

Been staying away from drama also, I'm sick of telling people how to solve there problems when I have my own, time to think about me and stop worring about problems that people cause them selfs, grow up, and listen if you want help, dont take in one ear and out the other! I'm one!

I will try to update my progress when I can, just been so busy to say anything, but I do read the new post when I can, heard the site's Chat room was working! maybe I will join in Saturday with everyone!

 Take care!

Paul

Day 15, whoot! Its going great! just been so busy of late, still going day to day, and no meeting yet, my friend had canceled our meeting and talk, but I'm going to St.Marks church tomrrow at 8pm for one! Working on the steps my wife is going ok, but lack in it sometimes, I mostly read them in my spare time to keep me going, the main thing is I'm staying sober, and being strong willed, I went into a party store for the first time since stopping, and it mad me sick to see that wall of evil sitting on the shelfs, and there where all the regular drunks getting there booze, feels good to walk out without it! My family is proud I went this far! :) thanks for thinking of me and support, love it!!

Hey Paul M, ...

Success in AA is predominately about getting in touch and relying on God (or higher power) ... it's the spiritual progress that builds our solid sober foundation ... it becomes our shield against relapse ... I'm curious as to your current spiritual condition and development ... or is it too soon to ask ???

P.S.   Congrats on 15 days  ... ...  a small miracle in itself ...

Day 16, No pappy, I'm not relying on Gog to bail me out, he has been in my heart, for he did not put the bottle in my hand, there for, its up to me to put it down! I'm feeding off the power of LOVE my wife and kids are giving me, and the great things that will be coming my way, You make your own choices, its what choice you decide to pick, God cannot help you with that!

Hey Paul, ... consider this ...

God is Love ... when we receive love from our wife and kids, that's God's way of showing His/Her love to us ... No, God didn't put the bottle in my hands, but He did give me the freedom to make that choice ...

You said God is in your heart ... true enough for me as well, but I never realized that till I was sober for a while ... and I learned He can indeed help me with my choices if I only humble myself enough to ask ... I asked in all earnestness to be relieved of the 'desire to drink' and He did that for me ... mostly through my friends in AA ... When I prayed early in sobriety, so many events occurred that I couldn't possibly discard the changes it made in me ... I was convinced beyond any doubt, that God was doing for me, what I could not do for myself ... I pray this 'awakening comes to you as well ...

Love you my brother,
Pappy
