Praying for Alcoholics and Addicts who havent yet found a solution.

In our meetings we often pray for those who are still suffering, but as theres no rules in our fellowship has anyone here ever felt the need to get down and pray for someone they've seen in they're life (i.e. the streets, at the grocery store etc.)  and have you ever found in this program that we obviously have a spiritual gift that has come at a rather BAD time in our lives and sometimes we have certain things happen that "tell" us things?  We arent ever supposed to blab about these things to people anywhere, its supposed to all be kept Quiet because we are in a fellowship we dont go around talking about, but has anyone felt any of these things in theyre lives?

I have a person I've seen in my neighborhood who isnt in a good place and I've said some things for this person to my HP.  Has anyone else ever prayed for someone who's not in a home group of AA or even clearly addicted to alcohol but in troubles of other kinds of drugs/ circumstances?, and if Yes, have you ever felt something as a result of it?

Just wondering?  And please pray for our friend who I'm talking about that we dont yet know but I, and I'm sure many others have seen

Thanks, and blessings,

Closer.

I hope I'm understanding it right - but I have always been praying for ALL who still suffer, not just those in AA. I haven't personally been around a still suffering person, or done any 12th step calls yet.
Thanks for bringing this up Closer - nice to hear from you : )

I don't have any doubt the reason I'm alive... I'm sober... and I'm in AA right now is a result of prayers from other people....I pray for people I see in life...in meetings... on message boards...As well as a general prayer for all that still suffer from this horrific disease. I can't have too much prayer. I'm sure of that.

Yes, I do pray for others Closer. And yes, I have prayed for those who have lost their way as well. But what happens from there is up to our higher power to decide, not us. Yeah, I can try my hardest to convince others of the truth, just like you do. But lets face it; we can only carry the message so far before something has to give. And believe you me, it doesn't necessarily include us. So do your due diligence Closer and carry the message just like everyone else. And then 'wait' for a response. Only then, can we interpret things better. So pray for them Closer and then wait for them to respond, okay. That's what we in the spiritual realm call...waiting on God.

I pray only for the knowledge of God's will and the power to carry that out
