Couple of things I thought I'd share
Permalink

When I first started going to meetings, I always had a small pad and pen with me so I could jot down things others shared that really struck me. After a while I started carrying a smaller purse (under the guise of less room less clutter Haha!!!) Anyway, I now have a smartphone and use the notepad app on it if something really strikes me. Two things I have written down which I can relate to are:

"With alcohol I had put myself in my own little prison, my 4th step inventory was the key I used to get out"

"The AA program works by my being exposed to experiences that cause spiritual growth. Not all of them are positive. Spiritual growth is how I know I am actually working the AA program, not just staying sober"

Peace

I knew a guy that took a notepad and wrote down everything he heard that he liked for a year, I never minded but wondered what others might have thought about him and anonymity. I think the smartphone way is a good idea but I would be afraid someone might think I was texting and feel I was being rude. I try to remember things I like and jot them down after the meeting.. Thank you for sharing here.

I too take a journal into my meeting to jot down things that hit me. I dont write down names. Never even thought about doing that. It helps me stay focused on the discussion. After 4 1/2 years sober I still have so much to learn. The information I heard in the beginning takes on a new meaning to me now. So do what works for you. Just turn ringer off lol. now that pisses people off lol
