Found out today that a close friend of mine passed away suddenly last Saturday. I spoke to him last week and he was doing ok. Jack was a big brother/mentor to me. He was kind, unassuming and unselfish. He was the past Pres of the local IBEW for 2 decades. 6 years ago he helped me (I helped him) wire my mountain home. It took 9- 14 hours days, at age 60!. I'll miss you Jack, sorry I didn't get to see you before you had to go.
Thanks guys, this one hit close to home. He was in the hospital for a couple weeks (cancer treatment) and he told me that he was ok, but they were moving him into a nursing home to rehab his leg. I asked to come visit him in the hospital, but he put me off till after moving (which I don't think he did). I wanted to move him to my house but didn't get the chance to ask him. I was able to leave him a message on his cell phone, after I found out this morning. Surreal to hear his voice, same message I've been listening to for years. See you on the other side my friend.
My condolences Dean on the loss of your friend, Jack. He sounds like a very unique individual and mentor. My prayers go out to his family and friends. That's the least I can do.
My prayers are certainly with you as well Dean ... ... ... Be comforted in the knowledge that the 'Man Upstairs' is and will be taking care of all the good souls that are called from this place ...
God Bless, Pappy
