Anyone interested in meetings while camping, hunting, or other outdoor activities?

Hi Folks! My name is Mac. I will have 24 years sober/clean in November of this year (2012). I am a bowhunter and am interested in having an event in the fall that would include some camping with a bonfire meeting at the end of the day. I have a thread open on Archery Talk (a large archery forum) asking if there are archers interested in bowhunting/camping/having an event like this. If you would be interested please contact me.

Hi Mac,

Welcome to the MIP board. It sounds like a fun idea although Personally I'm not a hunter. If I run into someone who might be interested, I will have them message you.

Hey Mac, welcome to the board. Like Rob, I'm no hunter, I shoot animals (and fish) with my camera. But I don't condemn hunters, as long as they eat what they hunt.
Where is epic camp out going to be?

Bow hunter also. well used to. Can't pull a bow, my back is fubard. I got my disabled hunting permit to hunt in bow season with a cross bow. But I don't own a crossbow, yet. Will try and hunt next year for sure maybe this year. Where this shindig going down? I'm in Colorado. I have to have help to hunt. Can't walk more than a couple hundred yards then I'm done for the day. Can't load my bow. Can't carry anything...etc etc With some help I'll do OK. My sponsor is a bow hunter, best friend in AA is a bow hunter. We all would love to crash this party.

My sister lives in Colorado. I want to see where the demand is - if you know what I mean. I have wondered if there are many folks interested. Please help pass the word and let's see where we need to have it. Maybe more than one location?

Welcome Mac to "MIP". I'm not a bow hunter either, or a camper mind you. But I will pass this message along. Welcome again.

Thanks! I hope enough folks will see this and talk about it at meetings. I'd love to set something up and have an event that would truly be special. I used to go to a similar event a bit earlier in the fall at Torch Lake in Michigan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torch_Lake_(Antrim_County,_Michigan).

We had about 30 guys from the local groups attend. We would hunt small game in the morning and cook our harvest at night. We always had a super cool bonfire meeting to finish off the day. it lasted 3 days and 2 nights.

I know I can get quite of my friends to go if there is hunting, guns, and shooting things. Could be just a deer hunt. Colorado has over the counter deer bow tags for around here. I have 3 bows I can loan. Grouse, squrile rabbit...I have the neccery equipment for them also.

Huge fire and big drought here. More and more of Colorado is being closed daily around here. Might not get a bow hunt this year if some serious rain goesn't comes. What part of CO your sister in?
