Really imagined drinking just 5 or 6 and then stopping.  Really seriously thought I could do it!  JUST 5 or 6!  Only that many..... BAAAAhahahahahahahaha!  Do I also think I could eat an entire hippopatamus for supper tonight?  HAHAHAHA!  What a crazo I am!

Off to a meeting... thank God there is always a meeting, and good stuff to read here!

Only I didn't imagine the 5 or 6 and then stopping part. In my daydream I controlled my drinking all night long!

Man, on my way to my meeting tonight the thought "it's fine if you have a few cold ones watching the game on Sundays" and quickly I snapped back to reality and know damn well I'd start using that excuse for Monday night baseball, then "oh well there's a game on tonight..." and then how quickly the beer would turn to liquor and the liquor leads to pills and eventually I'm at my home group... as a resident. Not worth it.

Thanks for sharing Tasha.

Nick

That's a really big "hippopotamus" Tasha. I really can't imagine anyone drinking 5 or 6 after eating that.

I don't think you're a "crazo" either, your just imagining things that's all.

You went to a meeting tonight, did you not? How did that go by the way? Well, I suppose. You've found the antidote Tasha and it all starts by attending meetings.

They have a saying in A.A. that goes something like this: "If you still your body the mind will eventually follow" -how true. I had to let "my feet" do what my mind could not, lead me to a meeting. And the same should be said of you...

Keep that momentum going dear, and never give up hope. We won't, either should you.

I was going to say, don't think of celebrating about the new car. Looks like your disease considered it. It used to work like that for me. When something good happened I wanted to drink over it.
