The only requirement for membership in AA is a desire to stop drinking.

This program works for those who truly want it.

We are able to enjoy life as we once knew it, there is still hope but we need to take certain steps.

We must be fearless and thorough from the very start.

We must admit we are powerless over alcohol -that our lives have become unmanageable.

"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.

(I post this in case anyones reading the forum who is unsure whether they should find help or continue trying to win themselves.)

All very true Problem Solver,

though I sometimes think it is quite handy to be an alcoholic if you want to join AA.
