Thanks, I did have a good day. My sons few in to visit. Friends came over. My wife cooked (see miracles do happen).
I've been doing a lot of reflecting on the past this birthday. I had a habit of celebrating birthdays (and every other event) by getting drunk. I can hardly believe that that last time I did that was twenty years ago. That birthday drunk helped push along the chain of events that lead to my (ex) wife leaving, me filing for divorce and at my lawyer's suggestion that I return to A.A. I started going to meetings and finally stopped drinking on June 10th.
What a blessing! Sober today thanks to a power greater than myself and the fellowship of A.A. I'm very grateful.
Glad to hear you had a lovely day. Here's wishing you many, many more. :)
